Why I am not voting for President Obama

Keeping my wife and I focused on the upcoming election; we have done much research on the issues. We put our hearts and minds to pen and paper and came up with the reasons why we will not vote for our current president.

While we are certainly not telling anyone who to vote for, I hope that this can help others who are on the fence or who have been confronted by liberals on why they will vote for Obama. Feel free to use this information and share it with others.

1. I do not support my tax dollars being used to fund overseas and local abortions, which violates the 6th commandment “Thou shall not kill.” I do believe abortion is murder – and that the moral imperative is to protect innocent human life.

 2. I do not support getting citizens angry and jealous about the rich using statements such as “paying their fair share”; creating class warfare - which violates the 10th commandment, “Thou shall not covet.”

3. I do not support forcing the rich to pay more in taxes because they are wealthy, which violates the 8th commandment, “thou shall not steal.” Draconian taxation is simply stealing sanctioned by the government – which was one of the main reasons the colonist rebelled.

 4. I do not believe that Conservative Leadership supports big business, the rich and wishes to take away women’s rights as stated by Obama. This violates the 9th commandment, “thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.” Historically Proven – under conservative leadership; Main Street and Wall Street alike have prospered – lowering poverty rates to records lows. Under Obama’s leadership we are witnessing real corporate corruption – big business in bed with the government - the Administration is picking winners and losers. That is not good and honest government.

 5. I believe that all American citizens should be allowed to keep more of their hard earned money to save or spend as they please – as is the spirit and meaning within our Declaration when it says “The Pursuit of Happiness.”

6. I believe that the Constitution is not a, “Document of Negative Liberties.” as stated by Obama. I do believe and know that it is the longest surviving constitution passed by any nation in history. It has survived because it does limit the power of a centralized government and sets up a Government Branch structure that has the greatest opportunity to hold corrupt and evil men at bay if they assume leadership.  It is the most moral and effective government structure in the history of the world.

7. I do not support the government forcing the people of America to buy a government product. This is not an enumerated power given to our president or congress in our constitution. Whether under the Commerce Clause or Taxation – the Supreme Court got this one wrong.

8. I believe that the Supreme Court has the Constitutional right to judge if a law passed by congress is constitutional or unconstitutional without being pressured by the Executive Branch of our government. President Obama's chastising of the justices in a State of the Union Address was unprecedented, immature and showed absolutely poor leadership.

9. I do not support forcing a religious organization to act against their own conscious, which violates the first amendment, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF.”

 10. I do not support illegal immigrants being allowed to vote, which violates the 15th amendment, “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.”

 11. I DO NOT believe that America doesn’t consider itself a Christian nation as stated by President Obama.

12. I believe that American citizen’s tax dollars should be cherished, respected and spent wisely and efficiently and not wasted on myths and theories known as the green movement. EX: Companies such as: Solyndra, Abound Solar, Raser Technologies, Eco-Tality, Geothermal Power, First Solar, Beacon Power, Sunpower, Ener1, Amonix, ALL OF THEM NOW BANKRUPT TAKING ALL OF THE TAX PAYERS DOLLARS WITH THEM. Each of these are examples of Government Corporate Corrupt Cronyism – the leaders and major investors in these firms were all either donors or fundraising bundlers for the Obama Campaign. This is straight-up and undeniable corruption.

13. I believe that it is the duty of every American Citizen to elect Godly leaders as stated by John Jay, first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, “The Americans are the first people whom Heaven has favored with an opportunity of deliberating upon and choosing the forms of government under which they should live. Providence has given to our people the choice of their ruler, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation, to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

14. I believe in financial, personnel and religious freedom, which is being weathered away by this current administration. This is the destruction of each individuals “Pursuit of Happiness”.

15. I believe that a true leader unites not divides its citizens.

16. I believe that most of the wealthy people became rich due to self-sacrifice researching, education, investing, and hard work and not primarily from government help. I believe that Greed & Corruption are human flaws; not flaws that are strictly reserved to the rich or members of any particular political party. In twenty-five years I have known or worked for hundreds of wealthy people; and very rarely have I known them to be greedy or corrupt. Greed and corruption is not common among them. I believe our President and some members of government leadership use these class warfare arguments to get the voters worked up and to gain and retain power. Many of these leaders are doing so because they want power, control and the money themselves. Historically greed and corruption has manifested among government leaders more often than among the citizens.

17. I believe that American citizens should be protected from invasion and attacks from another country and that those that neglect their job to uphold this responsibility should be prosecuted and not protected with a presidential protection decree. Ex. Eric Holder protected by the president after an American citizen and border patrol agent Brian Terry was murdered by Mexican criminals in the fast and the furious campaign.

18. I believe that the tax system of America was established to procure funds to help with the needs of the American people and the defense of our nation and was never intended to be used as punishment to American citizens. EX: The Supreme Court ruling that the health care law is a tax that can be used to punish (it’s a penalty) those that refuse to buy it by STEALING their hard earned money from their paychecks.

19. I don’t believe that a person should have to support President Obama as a black man because a voter is a black man. As stated by Martin Luther King Jr.” I have a dream that my children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” My trouble with Obama is not the color of his skin; but quite simply the content of his character. (By the way – this item was shared with me by a friend who is a black man).

 20. Obama stated, “If I cannot fix the economy, I will be a one term president.” and I hold every man to his word.

 21. He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

22. President Obama has time and time again; said one thing and then done another.

23. The President of the United States has a sworn commitment to uphold the laws of our nation. There are many examples of President Obama blocking the law from being enforced. However, the most egregious offence was the GM/Chrysler Auto Bailouts – and now the publically released records and emails clearly show that Obama willfully broke our laws and damaged innocent shareholders in the process. His goal – to hand over the two companies to campaign supporters and corporate cronies who had no legal or contractual claim to it. We cannot trust a president who will ignore and even break our laws in order to help his friends and punish his enemies. This is not how a ‘President’ behaves – this is how a ‘Dictator’ behaves. President Obama demonstrably considers himself above the law.

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people. As stated by the declaration of independence July 4, 1776

24. I believe in Proverbs 29:2, “when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn”.

SECRET VIDEO: Romney Tells Millionaire Donors What He REALLY Thinks of Obama Voters

I find it interesting that the Mother Jones website is actually sharing this secret video - a video that was filmed by someone who hid a camera at a fundraiser by Mitt Romney with millionaire donors.

What’s interesting about it? That they actually think that this is a Gotcha Moment! The fact that they think it is a Gothcha Moment – just proves that Mitt is correct with most of what he is addressing in this video.

In summary Mitt shares:
·         That we have reached a tipping point in this nation – where nearly 50 % of the citizens DO NOT pay federal income tax.
·         That among SOME of those who pay no federal income tax – there is an ‘entitlement attitude’. They actually believe that it is government’s responsibility to help them with housing, healthcare, food, etc. This ignores the simple fact that Government cannot do anything without tax dollars coming from the citizens. What happens when nearly 50% of the citizens are not paying any federal income taxes? (Seriously – stop and think about this).
·         Mitt stated he believes that many of those people will not vote for HIM – because they have been conditioned to rely on government – that lowering taxes does not mean anything to these people because THEY DO NOT CURRENTLY PAY FEDERAL INCOME TAX.

Here are some links that will help to put what Mitt is talking about in context.

I challenge you to study what has happened to any number of countries in the past; and even the recent past – which have at least 40% or more of their citizens paying no taxes; and while the other half not only pays the taxes – but contributes to the housing, food, and other expenses of the half that do not pay. You will find that these nations are in despair and in collapse. Most recently this has been Greece, Spain, and Italy – the list goes on and on.

Do you realize that if you take the top 10% of income earners in our nation – and tax them at 100% of their income (providing they would even keep working knowing all their money would be taken); that it would not even pay the full interest payments on our debt. It would only add enough money to run the Federal Government for less than a handful of months. So… what we really have is a spending problem.

Now I worked for the media for 10 years in the 80’s and early 90’s; and I am a dedicated follower of the media. So, I can certainly predict how they will TRY to use this video to discredit Mitt Romney.

So… Let’s take a look at what he actually said.

First off – the Mother Jones page said – “Contending that he is a self-made millionaire who earned his own fortune, Romney insisted, "I have inherited nothing." He remarked, "There is a perception, 'Oh, we were born with a silver spoon, he never had to earn anything and so forth.' Frankly, I was born with a silver spoon, which is the greatest gift you can have: which is to get born in America."

Mitts father, George Romney started life very poor. He worked hard to build his success; and as a business leader and a state Governor – he was a very generous man. It is well known that George Romney wanted his children to have an appreciation for the privilege of being born into this great nation and the opportunities afforded them as well by their father’s success. George wanted Mitt to know and truly understand the importance of hard work. So when young Mitt was off to school, Dad certainly helped – but Mitt was going to have to make and earn his own success as a man. Mitt had no help from his dad in launching his career and more importantly making his own way in life and in business. When Ann and Mitt first started their marriage; they lived in very simple housing while Mitt went to college; they were not handed any items of privilege.

When Romney states he has not inherited anything, this is actually true. When Mitt’s father George passed away; he left a large inheritance. Mitt gave the entire inheritance away to Charity – not keeping one penny for himself.

Mother Jones says - Asked why he wouldn't go full-throttle and assail Obama as corrupt; Romney explained the internal thinking of his campaign and revealed that he and his aides, in response to focus-group studies conducted by his consultants, were hesitant to hammer the president too hard out of fear of alienating independents who voted for Obama in 2008:

Why is this so surprising? I can tell you from my many hours of research and my actual professional work in Healthcare and Banking Finance – these industries have indisputable proof that Obama is corrupt. It is extremely hard to go on the attack and expose Obama’s corruption – BECAUSE the mainstream media gives him cover. Never the less; there are hundreds of respected journalists, blogs, news outlets who have been working diligently to expose Obama’s corruption – and these folks get attacked by what I call the 'Attack Dogs' in the MSM.

So Romney says he has to stay positive about what he will do as President and how it differs from the policies and practices of President Obama. He wants to focus on the policy, the policy differences and couch the campaign speeches in positive ways. That’s a legitimate campaign strategy; is it not?

He continues and says; that how he speaks about Obama has an impact – either positive or negative; in the minds of voters. - So, and by the way, when you say to them, "Do you think Barack Obama is a failure?" they overwhelmingly say no. They like him. But when you say, "Are you disappointed that his policies haven't worked?" they say yes. And because they voted for him, they don't want to be told that they were wrong, that he's a bad guy, that he did bad things, that he's corrupt. Those people that we have to get, they want to believe they did the right thing, but he just wasn't up to the task. They love the phrase that he's "over his head."

People do not want to believe that their President is corrupt; especially if they voted for him in 2008. That is a tough pill to swallow for any voter.

Mitt later says - Well, I wrote a book that lays out my view for what has to happen in the country, and people who are fascinated by policy will read the book. We have a website that lays out white papers on a whole series of issues that I care about. I have to tell you, I don't think this will have a significant impact on my electability. I wish it did. I think our ads will have a much bigger impact. I think the debates will have a big impact…My dad used to say, "Being right early is not good in politics." And in a setting like this, a highly intellectual subject—discussion on a whole series of important topics typically doesn't win elections.

When Mitt says, “I have to tell you, I don't think this will have a significant impact on my electability. I wish it did. I think our ads will have a much bigger impact” – he is addressing the fact that most people these days simply are not interested in wonky policy details. They are most likely not going to take the time to read his book or the various white papers his team has written on various national policy matters. Though I certainly wish they would. I read Obama's books and online materials before I voted in 2008.

I agree with him. One of my reasons for launching this blog in the first place – is my belief that the details matter and my frustration that most voters are either not interested in the details or are simply not paying attention.

The article completes with the following - Here was Romney raw and unplugged—sort of unscripted. With this crowd of fellow millionaires, he apparently felt free to utter what he really believes and would never dare say out in the open.

LISTEN CAREFULLY – we have arrived at a place in our nation; where we are at a tipping point. We now have roughly 49% of the citizens paying no federal income taxes, but receiving benefits of the Federal Government. It’s not just about food stamps or welfare. There are many other programs that cost money – programs that every citizen benefits from. Education, Federal Interstates, transportation, military protection, FEMA, Medicare, etc. etc. We cannot sustain these programs unless we first get people back to work to grow the tax base; and secondly strip loop holes out of the tax code and be sure that nearly everyone is contributing to the tax revenue. The rich can and will pay a fair share – both in the form of a larger percentage as well as a larger sheer dollar figure. Nearly every rich person I know is willing to contribute. I have many wealthy friends - I have never heard them say they do not want to help pay taxes.

It may very well be a good thing that this secret video has been released. Perhaps Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will step up and address these issues. Certainly Paul Ryan is well versed on these issues and has the ability to articulate them as a moral imperative – to show how their plan will get more people back to work and correct our wacky tax code.

The track we are on is absolutely unsustainable. If we continue – we will collapse our economic system and bankrupt the nation. Then there will be no help for anyone – much less the poorest and most destitute among us.

As I have stated in dozens of blogs or posts - Wake-up America. Vote Obama or any other Economic Liberal Progressive out and Romney / Ryan in! Let conservative policies do what they have always done – usher in robust economic growth and more economic freedom and opportunities for the poor and the middle class.

That is the moral thing to do!

What Media Bias?

For years, Democrats have demonized conservative opinion as hateful, bigoted, and homophobic, and at least as early as the Clinton years they began to suggest that it could lead to violence. This was President Clinton’s angle when he sought to link Timothy McVeigh’s Oklahoma City bombing to conservative talk radio. Since then, Democrats have consistently used this intimidation tactic to chill or discredit conservative speech. Despite Obama’s campaign promise to usher in a “new tone,” one of the earliest references to this phrase being used during his term appeared in a much different context in a Politico piece. In early February 2009, Josh Gerstein wrote, “With his economic stimulus plan facing serious resistance on Capitol Hill, President Obama struck a combative new tone Thursday, publicly chastising ‘some in Congress’ for trying to make major changes to the near-trillion-dollar legislation now in the Senate.” Obama insisted, “We can’t go back to the same worn-out ideas that led us here in the first place. You’ve been hearing ’em for the last 10 years, maybe longer.”1

The Democrats’ passive-aggressive attitude toward civility was brought into stark relief in January 2011 after Jared Loughner, a mentally ill malcontent, opened fire outside a Safeway supermarket in Tucson, Arizona, killing six people and wounding fourteen others, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. President Obama delivered the memorial address for the victims at the University of Arizona in Tucson. In the speech, he called for what the New York Times described as a “new era of civility,” urging that if the “tragedy prompts reflection and debate... let’s make sure it is worthy of those we have lost. Let’s make sure it’s not on the usual plane of politics and point scoring and pettiness that drifts away with the next news cycle.” Obama added, “If, as has been discussed in recent days, their deaths help usher in more civility in our public discourse, let us remember that it is not because a simple lack of civility caused this tragedy—it did not—but rather because only a more civil and honest public discourse can help us face up to our challenges as a nation, in a way that would make them proud.”2 Obama’s plea for civility would have seemed more sincere if his allies weren’t announcing from every conceivable media forum that the shootings were the fault of “violent” conservative rhetoric. They especially sought to tie the murders to Sarah Palin—simply because her PAC displayed a map that placed targets over districts where it was trying to unseat Democrats. Although “targeting” a political opponent is a commonly used metaphor across the political aisle, the map—whose targets were decried by the Left as “gun sights”—suddenly emerged as the prime example of the right’s supposed descent into murderous extremism.

Two days after Giffords’ shooting, the Atlantic Wire, a website associated with The Atlantic, ran an article asking, “Did Sarah Palin’s Target Map Play a Role in Giffords Shooting?” The article quoted Atlantic blogger Andrew Sullivan, a vociferous Obama supporter, professing, “No one is saying Sarah Palin should be viewed as an accomplice to murder”—and then he seemingly proceeded to do just that: “Many are merely saying that Palin’s recklessly violent and inflammatory rhetoric has poisoned the discourse and has long run the risk of empowering the deranged. We are saying it’s about time someone took responsibility for this kind of rhetorical extremism, because it can and has led to violence and murder.”3 A Democrat operative later admitted that the Democrats plotted to blame another right-leaning group for the shootings. “They need to deftly pin this on the tea partiers,” said the unnamed Democrat. “Just like the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma bombing on the militia and Oklahoma City because both “took place in a climate of bitter and virulent rhetoric against the Government and Democrats.”4

Meanwhile, Obama was content to issue vague calls for civility from both sides, never once calling out his own supporters and allies for their over-the-top accusations. Of course, these accusations assumed, without a shred of proof, that the shooter was conservative or at least influenced by conservative rhetoric. So it didn’t help their cause when investigators revealed the shooter was mentally deranged, with no connection to any conservative cause, group, or public figure.

Here are videos that tackle this issue with clarity.
