The Armed Citizen: Fight Crime by Fighting Back

Here is a video that was released long before the Navy Yard shooting this week. Considering the Gun Control advocates love to create emotional videos as propaganda for their misguided causes – this video certainly provides an adequate response in-kind.

Now - let's take into consideration that it was President Clinton (a Democrat) who put into affect a new law that banned loaded guns on military bases; and now you get Fort Hood and the DC Navy Yard massacres.

Is it safe to think that military personnel; who are trained to use these weapons professionally – if they had been allowed by law to carry their loaded sidearm; would have been able to put down the crazy shooters before so many people were shot and killed? The common sense answer is yes. Unfortunately it is quite clear that the Gun-Grabbers lack any common sense.

According to new crime statistics released this week by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Chicago had more homicides in 2012 than any other city in the country. There were 500 murders in Chicago last year, the FBI said, surpassing New York City, which had 419.

The fact that most of the killings happen on the south side of Chicago; the very place where President Obama developed his political career from; comes with amazing irony. This is a city where it is next to impossible to legally possess a handgun or other guns – and despite all the regulations limiting or denying gun ownership that were designed to eliminate gun violence – they have the highest rate of gun murders and gun violence in the nation.

You would think that very fact alone would be enough to stop Gun Control Advocates in their tracks; to pause and re-think their positions and ideas. Yet no – they will use the Navy Yard shooting this week; to press even harder.

Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said “a mass shooting at a South Side park shows why assault weapons should be banned”… "It's a miracle there has been no fatality," he said. "Illegal guns, illegal guns, illegal guns drive violence."

FYI - Superintendent Garry McCarthy – guns are not violent and guns don’t kill people. People kill people – more to the point; violent people with guns kill people, and violent people do not obey laws – so they do not pay attention to your laws that ban guns or assault weapons.

It seems Superintendent Garry McCarthy seemed to have conveniently forgotten that the guns and assault weapons used to commit crimes in South Side Chicago are ALREADY BANNED! Ooops!

In fact Superintendent Garry McCarthy – a vast majority of law enforcement professionals disagree with you.

In March, PoliceOne conducted the most comprehensive survey ever of American law enforcement officers’ opinions on the topic gripping the nation's attention in recent weeks: gun control.

Totaling just shy of 30 questions, the survey allowed officers across the United States to share their perspectives on issues spanning from gun control and gun violence to gun rights.

The results do not back up Superintendent Garry McCarthy “professional opinion”. Again – Ooops!

The So Wise Liberal Media Talking Heads & Their Comments on the Boston Bombing.

After more than 20 years of paying close attention to the Liberal Progressive talking heads and their silly theories; I did initially think that one or two of them might say something oober stupid about the Boston Bombing.

Is it just me; or does it seem that in the most recent years – the idiot talking heads in the liberal media are more emboldened? The comments shared below are just the tip of iceberg.

We are not interested in looking for scape goats or finding ways to politicizing a terrible situation such as the Boston Terror Bombing in order to win an argument. We do not see every situation through a prism of color, race or some twisted ideal of political correctness.

We suggest to holding everyone to the same standards regardless of who they are and where they are from. Just hours after explosions rocked the Boston Marathon on Monday, Chris Matthews speculated, "Normally domestic terrorists, people, tend to be on the far right." He then reconsidered and suggested, "...That’s not a good category, just extremists, let’s call them that."

2. MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell faults NRA for delaying Boston Marathon investigation

On a day in which the Senate's vote on gun control legislation vied for media attention with new developments in the Boston Marathon bombing investigation, MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell drew a direct link between the two stories by blaming the National Rifle Association for complicating the FBI's efforts "to find the murderer who planted the bombs here in Boston."

3. Michael Moore alleges that the Tea Party was behind the Boston Massacre bombings

While so many others have been sending their thoughts and prayers to those affected by the Boston Marathon Massacre Monday, filmmaker Michael Moore instead decided to place the blame for the bombings on his favorite target – the Tea Party.

4. Let’s hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American – David Sirota – Salon.com

Sirota writes… That’s because privilege tends to determine: 1) which groups are — and are not — collectively denigrated or targeted for the unlawful actions of individuals; and 2) how big and politically game-changing the overall reaction ends up being. … However, white male privilege means white men are not collectively denigrated/targeted for those shootings — even though most come at the hands of white dudes.

5. CNN National Security Analyst Warns Of‘Right-Wing Extremists’ Behind Boston Bombings

CNN national security analyst Peter Bergen told host Jake Tapper on Monday that the explosions in Boston could be the work of Al Qaeda terrorists as much as they could be part of a planned assault by “right-wing extremists.” Bergen said he was reminded of the Oklahoma City bombing, and that terrorism on the right could not be ruled out.

Resisting Evil in a Violent World

The Bible, in one sense, is the story of the cosmic struggle of good versus evil. It teaches us that evil is real, that it is in the world to stay, and that, as Solzhenitsyn said, “The line between good and evil runs through the middle of the human heart.” The Bible also teaches us that we have a duty to resist evil, first in our own hearts, and then in the world, and to work for the good of others.

Lessons learned over the years from experiencing evil and criminal behavior:

1. Often, law-enforcement cannot arrive in time to prevent crime or death.
2. Inadequate weapons will not stop a killer.
3. Violence can happen anywhere, at any time, usually when you least expect it.
4. You need to be prepared ahead of time.
5. Those experiences combined with a Biblical theology of evil reinforced the concepts that evil is random, it must be resisted, and passive defense is insufficient.

This is how quickly an evil persons plan for destruction can be halted in its tracks by an armed citizen. One really big bad man, and one petite young lady - who happens to have the ultimate equalizer.

Somebody Picked the Wrong Girl

Violent evil is real. It will be with us until Christ returns. From our point of view, it is also random. We never know when it is coming our way. Therefore, we must be prepared to meet it. We can prepare by choosing passive defense systems, as some have done or by choosing active defense. But we should not be caught unaware: evil is real, and we can never know when it is coming our way, so we must be prepared.

Evil must be resisted, always spiritually, and sometimes by force.

 

The role of the state

God has ordained a role for the state to play in the restraint of evil (see Romans 13:1-5). But when the state cannot restrain evil, the responsibility falls on the individual to defend him or herself and other innocents. There is a word for people who put all of their confidence in police protection when it comes to violent crime: 'victim'. That is no slight on our public servants. It is a simple recognition of the facts. They cannot be everywhere at once.

The value of an armed citizenry

Many people in our country believe that the best way to prevent more mass shootings is to disarm the public, to take guns away from all law-abiding citizens. I do not fault them for holding that view. I just believe that it is terribly short-sighted because it embraces passive defense as the only defense. But violent evil is a reality we must live with until Christ returns. We have a responsibility to resist it. From our point of view, it is random. Therefore, we must always be prepared to meet it. Passive defense systems have limited effectiveness. Criminals and the criminally insane will find weapons. The best defense against violent evil is an equally violent offense. Therefore, the best defense against the next mass shooter is a properly trained person equipped with adequate firepower to meet the threat.
