More class warfare and divide and conquer tactics from the unethical left.
Another attack add from an organization funded by a misleading group with a left-wing agenda. According to Wikipedia - NC WOMEN VOTE! is an independent expenditure
arm of EMILY’s List which works to educate and mobilize women voters on behalf
of pro-choice Democratic women.
EMILY’s List has shown itself to be a radical left wing
group, a huge proponent of abortion and supporter of Planned Parenthood.
Ok – so now we know who they are… What are their un-truths and omissions?

House Bill 603, A.K.A. – AN ACT TO
ENACT THE EQUAL PAY ACT TO ENSURE THAT EMPLOYEES IN THIS STATE ARE PAID THE
SAME WAGES IN THE SAME ESTABLISHMENT FOR THE SAME QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF THE
SAME CLASSIFICATION OF WORK.

Thom Tillis is NOT opposed to
equal pay for women. No – he supports that. Thom Tillis did not kill this bill.
Why did it die? BECAUSE – the bill has provisions allowing a woman not only to
file a claim with the Department of Labor to investigate – it also allows them
to file a lawsuit against these employers; with no language that prevents or
protects against frivolous lawsuits.
The bill died in committee
and did not progress (pun intended), because anyone with half a brain knew it would open a
flood gate of meritless law suites; forcing employers to pay hundreds of
thousands of dollars in legal fees, and tie up our courts while we waste tax
payer dollars as well.
For such a piece of
legislation to make sense – there has to be language within the bill that provides a defendant
some recourse or way for reimbursement for legal expenses, and possibly damages; in the event that someone files a
meritless and frivolous lawsuit.
Now for the Irony!
This group is actively supporting
the re-election of Kay Hagan; who has been called on the carpet for NOT paying
her female staff members the same compensation as her male staff members! Go
figure!
The remainder of the ad is
also more un-truth. The tax cuts were a 5% cut in taxes for EVERY North Carolina
Citizen – not just for the wealthy as implied by the ads content.
